Ancient Mixtec Gold Nail, Tomb 7, Oaxaca, Mexico

Originally, this gold nail was made with lost-wax process and in filigree. It was found in tomb 7, Monte Alban, and was worn by a member of the Mixtec elite. It dates between 1200-1521 and shows a cox-cox bird and deer head.
